The Month Of Sonic - 25th Anniversary

Journal Entry: Thu May 26, 2016, 1:01 PM
As every die-hard fan of Sonic The Hedgehog may already know, this year happens to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Blue Blur and all of the awesomely fun video games that he has appeared in over the years, and I've decided to take the opportunity to spend the next month by drawing as many Sonic-themed pictures as a way of celebrating the past twenthy-five years featuring one of my most favorite video game heroes of all time. Not only will I be able to draw pictures of the official characters from the franchise, but I will also try to draw various fan characters from the Sonic universe that were created by other people (including myself) to help me stay motivated to continue drawing, especially after dealing with a massive art block sometime ago, which I'm pretty much over with so far. In case anybody's wondering, I'm not actually doing requests for free anymore, but I am still doing art trades and commissions for anyone who is interested, so please don't be afraid to ask me to draw something, and I would really appreciate the support as always. I'm also aware that some of my friends' birthdays will be taking place in June, in which I might hold off drawing my Sonic-related artwork to focus on gift art for my friends. Even so, I might need some suggestions for ideas of what to draw in case I get stuck on my own, which are more than welcome from my friends and everyone else. Thank you, and happy drawing!

10. I am one of a few people who prefer Squirtle over Charmander as my favorite starter Pokémon in the original games.
11. I tend to have a hard time following the Archie Comics series version of "Sonic The Hedgehog" because of how completely different it is from the games it's supposed to be based on.
12. I have a fetish for girls' feet that are covered in socks, especially knee-high ones that are mostly white for some reason.
13. Drawing cartoons is something that I've always wanted to do for a living because it's one of a few things that I know I'm good at doing.

1. What was the last movie you saw?
I would have to say the live-action version of "The Jungle Book", which I was able to see with my dad and stepmom when it came out in theaters about a month ago.

2. Favorite video game console?
Believe it or not, my favorite video game console has always been the SNES, which I tend to play more than most of the newer consoles that have come out over the years.

3. What's your opinion on dragons?
I don't really care for dragons that much for some reason, but I don't exactly hate them, either.

4. If you were an animal, what would you be?
I'd probably have to say a squirrel because of my curious nature, especially since my fursona happens to be one as well.

5. Played any board games as of recently?
Yes, I was able to try out the prototype of a new board game called "Mutate!" while I was hanging out at a local comic book store in my hometown during Free Comic Book Day.

6. Any siblings?
Yes, I have a sister, a brother, a half-sister, and a half-brother; All four of which happen to be younger than me.

7. Are you happy in the country you live in? If you had the choice to move anywhere, where would you go?
Yes, I'm pretty much happy living in the US, but I would like to check out Japan someday because of it being a cool and interesting place to visit.

8. Dogs or cats?
It all depends on what I'm in the mood for, since I actually like both.

9. Ever been in a play for school?
Yes, I remember playing the role of the Big Bad Wolf from "The Three Little Pigs" when I was in first grade several years ago.

10. Favorite subject in school?
I'd probably have to say math because of it being a subject that doesn't require much studying; The same goes for art, which I also like doing.

11. Do you keep a diary?
No, but I did used to write in a journal that I had back when I was in middle school.

12. Are you a vegetarian?
No, I'm pretty much a typical omnivore.

Starter Pokemon Curiosity

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 8, 2016, 12:38 PM
Because I've been rather distracted with some personal things lately, I've decided to take a short break from posting new cartoon artwork for a couple of days so that I can discuss something that's been on my mind... As every die-hard Pokémon fan may already know, Nintendo was able to release all three of the original Pokémon games that were released on the original Game Boy (Red Version, Blue Version, and Yellow Version) on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS, and I was able to take the opportunity to purchase Blue Version because of it being the very first game in the series I've ever played when it was becoming popular. However, there is one thing that's actually kinda bothered me for some time about the original games...

"Why does everyone like to choose Charmander as their starter Pokémon in Red and/or Blue Version?"

Now, don't get me wrong; I don't hate Charmander or its evolutionary forms in any way, especially since I find myself training the one that appears in Yellow Version, which becomes quite strong as it evolves into Charmeleon and then into Charizard. The reason this bothers me is because Charmander is actually quite weak to use against the first two Gym Leaders that you battle in the game - Brock (who uses Rock-type Pokémon) and Misty (who uses Water-type Pokémon), and you probably aren't able to find any types of Pokémon that are strong against the types of Pokémon they use earlier in the game... at least, none that I know about in Blue Version. Even though I am aware that Pikachu, which is the only Pokémon that you start off with in Yellow Version, is completely powerless against Brock's Pokémon because of them also being Ground-types, the secret to beating him in that game is to catch a Mankey and train it until it learns Low Kick, which is a Fighting-type move that is super effective against the Rock-type Pokémon.

In case anybody is wondering, my favorite starter Pokémon in the first generation of Pokémon games has always been Squirtle because of it being quite strong for a Water-type Pokémon, especially whenever it evolves into Wartortle and Blastoise respectively. Plus, Blastoise was one of the reasons why I decided to get a copy of Blue Version during my thirteenth birthday because I thought it looked kinda cool with its cannon nozzles that are seen poking out of its shell. As for Bulbasaur, it was another good starter Pokémon that I sometimes trained whenever I started a new game, though Squirtle will always remain my personal favorite in all the games it appears in. Speaking of which, I can understand why many people love Charmander and its evolutionary forms because it's a Pokémon that is known for being fast as well as powerful. Due to its popularity, though, I sometimes feel that the other starter Pokémon have become either underrated or overlooked in some way over the years. If anyone is such an obsessive fan of Charmander as well as Charmeleon and/or Charizard, that's totally fine and okay with me, since I've pretty much enjoyed the Pokémon franchise ever since it first came out in the US, and I'll probably be able to continue enjoying the games that are able to come out until the end of time.

Zootopia: My Thoughts And Review

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 7, 2016, 1:13 PM

As every die-hard fan of anthropomorphic animal characters may already know, the new Disney animated movie "Zootopia" had just come out this past weekend, and it's sure to be a big hit with everyone who loves watching any of the Disney animated movies that have come out the last few years. I was able to go out and see the movie just recently, and I have only one thing to say about it... I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! Without a doubt, "Zootopia" has easily become one of my most favorite Disney movies of the current decade, and I haven't actually been so excited to see a new Disney animated movie since the release of "Wreck-It Ralph" back in 2012 (which will always remain one of my all-time favorites, BTW). After seeing the teaser trailer for the movie when going out to see "Inside Out" in theaters last year, I just knew that I would love "Zootopia" because of it being a movie that would appeal to me for sure, especially since I've always loved anthro animal characters for as long as I could remember, and the teaser trailer pretty much described what kind of characters they happen to be (presumably to those who are unfamilar with anthro animals unless they've seen any of the "Kung Fu Panda" movies) while introducing us to a couple of the characters who would appear in the movie.

Anyway, much of the movie takes place in a large city known as Zootopia, which is composed of different sections for each kind of animal, and one of the main characters is a female rabbit named Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin), who practically trains herself hard to become the first rabbit to be a police officer, since all the other police officers in the city happen to be larger mammals. Judy is a type of character who is quite friendly and optimistic, and she's never able to give up when it comes to helping others in need, even when she runs in a male fox named Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman), who is the other main character that appears in the movie. Unlike Judy, Nick happens to be a con artist who's able to make a living by selling home-made popsicles while obtaining materials in various ways such as having his partner (who is a Fennec fox) posing as a baby. Nick is a type of character who is always cool and collected for a fox, which definitely makes him just as appealing as Judy, especially when he's able to help her solve an important case that involves finding missing animals who have gone savage for some reason, though I won't reveal the entire plot to anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet. Besides Judy and Nick, all the other characters who appeared in the movie are all quite unique and likeable such as Officer Clawhauser, Chief Bogo, Flash The Sloth, and Yaxx (who is voiced by Tommy Chong, I might add).

I'll admit, I wasn't exactly sure if anyone I knew would be able to give me a ride to the theater that is located outside my hometown on the weekend that "Zootopia" was released, since my mother had to work all weekend and my aunt who usually takes me to the movies was kind of busy and might not be able to take me at the time. And so, I was able to ask my sister to take me to the movie theater after learning that she and her boyfriend were not doing anything at all on Saturday, and they were even nice enough to give me a ride to and from the theater. As it would turn out, my aunt was able to have enough time to take me to the movies the very next day on Sunday, and I decided to take the opportunity to see "Zootopia" for the second time after I ended up missing most of the previews upon arriving the first time; Needless to say, the first time that I saw the movie on Saturday was shown in 3D, and the second time I saw it on Sunday was shown in 2D with a lot more people showing up to see it than on Saturday. I was also hoping my aunt would join me to see it, but she decided to check out a different movie called "Risen" that played a little sooner because of it being a religious-themed movie that she was kind of in the mood for watching (especially with it being close to Easter), even though she really did want to see "Zootopia" with me as well. After her movie was over with, she was able to wait for me inside the theater just in time during the ending, and she even told me that my movie looked even better than the one she was able to check out, which didn't exactly turn out as good as she had hoped.

Anyway, the bottom line is that "Zootopia" is definitely one of the best new animated movies that I have ever seen so far, and I also liked it just about as much as I did with "Kung Fu Panda 3", which is another great animated movie involving anthro animal characters that I love so very much. The people who worked on such a movie did an impressive job making the characters so memorable and appealing while also delivering a storyline with many clever twists and adventures set in a world that is inhabited by anthro animals of all shapes and sizes. Other than that, the movie also teaches an important lesson that anyone can accomplish anything good no matter what kind of person they happen to be, especially if they're the kind of person that everyone else tends to judge rather harshly for one reason or another. If you haven't gone out to see "Zootopia" yet, I would totally recommend checking it out whenever you can, and it is a Disney animated movie involving animal characters that is worth checking out for sure.

8 Facts About Whitnee Squirrel

Journal Entry: Fri Mar 4, 2016, 12:30 PM

Tagged by my good friend :icontherealsneakers::

1.) Post the rules.
2.) Post 8 facts about your character.
3.) Tag 8 other characters.
4.) Post their names along with their creators avatars.

FACT #1 - Whitnee Squirrel was an original character that I was able to create shortly after checking out DeviantArt for the first time back in 2009, and part of the inspiration for such a character actually came from the webcomic series "Sabrina Online" by Eric Schwartz, where it was a sexy female squirrel from the comic named Amy that inspired me to create my own sexy squirrel character.

FACT #2 - When I first drew Whitnee, I decided to draw her with long black hair and white fur, which I found to be quite a sexy combination, and I even decided that she would often wear red clothing as part of her usual ensemble.

FACT #3 - When creating a unique personality for Whitnee to have, I decided to portray her as a sexy gal who loves to play video games (including the NES, which happens to be her most favorite console of all time), and her passion for gaming is also based on my own personal interests in the kinds of games that I enjoy; I also decided to have Whitnee being a type of character who loves to have her furry white feet tickled and/or massaged in some way, and she's even able to let anyone touch her paws to show how soft they really are.

FACT #4 - Whitnee's fictional birthday is March 14, which happens to be the same day as a Japanese holiday known as 'White Day', and it's also the same day as my father's birthday.

FACT #5 - Whitnee's grandparents were originally born in Japan before coming to live in America, which explains why she has such a deep fascination with anything related to the country (including ninjas), even though she and her family have yet to travel to such a place.

FACT #6 - Whitnee's best friend is a female chipmunk named Amber, who has been her best friend ever since they were in middle school, and they also share an apartment together. One of Amber's unique traits includes her passion for music of all kinds, and she likes to wear white tube socks with pink stripes as part of her usual outfit.

FACT #7 - Whitee has a younger sister named Jade, who was originally created by my good friend Wolf492 for me to use; She can be recognized by her bright green eyes, purple-colored hair, and outfit that usually consists of purple clothing. Despite how closely she resembles Whitnee, she is actually a couple of years younger than her sister, and some people even tend to mistake them for twins.

FACT #8 - There is a character from the "T.U.F.F. Puppy" universe that I created who was practically inspired by Whitnee and shares the exact same name as her. I originally drew her just for fun, but then I was able to develop her into a completely different character with an original backstory for the "T.U.F.F. Puppy" universe, though I was able to keep some of the features that both characters have in common such as the name and feature colors; Not to mention the "T.U.F.F. Puppy" version of Whitnee does eventually become the leader of a team of ninja heroes for hire who work for T.U.F.F. called 'Team Shinobi', and she also has an evil twin sister who constantly tries to fight her named Yami.

My Birthday Gift Art

Journal Entry: Wed Feb 10, 2016, 12:40 PM

Sorry it took so long for me to discuss this sort of topic, but I've just been so distracted by so many things going with my own life that I never got around to sharing some of the pictures that I received as birthday gifts from my friends here on DeviantArt after my birthday a couple of weeks ago; Not to mention that I was also waiting for a couple of other friends who planned on drawing something for my birthday as well, so I decided to take my time while focusing on anything else that I needed to get done at the time. Anyway, I'd like to thank everyone who was nice enough to wish me a Happy Birthday this year, and I'd also like to take this opportunity to share some of my favorite pictures that were drawn for me as birthday gifts by some of my friends on here, which definitely cheered me up and helped me feel inspired to continue drawing once again, especially when I was having a bit of trouble figuring out what to draw on my own (and I might be able to create new polls offering ideas for pictures based on certain themes on my mind). Thank you, and enjoy!

Regretful Thoughts

Journal Entry: Tue Jan 26, 2016, 9:54 AM
As everyone may already know, my birthday is practically coming up in just a couple of days, but I've been dealing with some negative feelings about myself just recently. A couple of friends of mine were able to post a couple of pictures as early birthday gifts for me recently, which was very nice and thoughtful of them, but I ended up commenting them in a way that some people have considered my comments to be considered to be kind or rude, even though I would never try to sound rude in any way. One such picture is this one that was done by Gabrielianthenook:

[BrithDay Gift] Caseys Fabulous Gift by Gabrielianthenook

After being able to check it out recently, I didn't exactly know how to react because it was a picture involving characters from "Undertale", a PC game that has become quite popular for some time, but I've never being able to play the game myself, so I was completely unfamiliar with characters for that reason. When I commented about hoping for something that would be a little more suitable to my taste (again, without even trying to sound rude in any way), everyone else who was able check the picture out suddenly got onto me by calling me ungrateful and/or picky. If there's one thing that I cannot stand at all, it's being called ungrateful because that's unnecessarily hurtful and untrue; Believe me, I was trying to sound ungrateful, I would have threated him by saying something like "I hate this picture! Either you make a new picture for me, or I'll do something bad like kill you!" Well, guess what? I didn't even say anything like to him at all! Besides, it's not a bad picture in any way (especially since it's a picture featuring my fursona), and I should really tell him that I appreciate him being able to draw something in time for my birthday nonetheless, which has now made me feel like the kind of bad person that I never wanted to be in the first place.

I guess the reason that some people have seen me as being rude is because of how stubborn I tend to be whenever nothing goes exactly as I had hoped, which always tends to put me in a moody state until start to feel better about myself again. I may have mentioned this to everyone quite a few times, but I have a mild case of autism that makes it kind of hard to socialize with everyone, and it also affects my life by always having to rely on a routine every single day, making it really hard for me to accept change unless I'm already prepared for it or I'm the one who does the changes myself; This sort of thing also tends to affect how I behave whenever I receive a certain type of gift that I was expecting from somebody, only to find out that it was something else that I never really expected to receive, and I end up saying something stupid yet optimistic in which everyone thinks I'm trying to sound rude (but I'm not). It's moments like that which make it rather difficult for anyone else to truly understand how I'm trying to feel without even breaking everyone's feelings, and I just wish that everything would just turn out perfectly all the time without me having to feel this way every once in a while. I know it may be completely unnecessary for me to behave like a kid, but some things just never change on the inside for a guy of my condition, and I've already been through enough trouble just trying to act so "mature" while also just being myself in the process. If everyone is going to think of me as being the kind of guy who doesn't always appreciate everything, then I might not have any choice but to kill myself if that's how it's gonna be....unless everyone else can prove that I really am a good person who has so much to live for, and I won't have to feel so unhappy about my own confusing life.

I have three pet dogs - A Parson Russel terrier named Annie, A pug named Kami, and a chi-weenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund-mix) named Gypsy.

2. What's your zodiac sign?
Because I was born on January 28, my zodiac sign is Aquarius.

3. If you could meet a Sonic character in RL who would be?
I would probably have to say Amy Rose because I've always found her to be such a cute character, especially with her undeniable passion for Sonic that makes her quite unique ever since her debut in "Sonic CD" (though my first time seeing Amy was actually from her appearance in "Sonic Adventure").

4. Coke or Pepsi?
Believe it or not, I actually prefer Pepsi over Coke, and I don't usually drink Coke unless it has flavor mixed in with it, such as cherry and/or vanilla. =P

5. There's a monster coming in your direction. Look at the side and pick a thing. Tell me what will be your weapon?
I would probably have to go with my lamp, which has a kind of unique shape that makes it suitable for using as a clobbering weapon. ;)

Of course, I like cats, and there are even times in which I prefer them over dogs (and vice versa). :meow:

Not exactly a question, but okay...

8. Do you prefer, short, medium or long hair?
For myself, I tend to prefer having short hair, especially when I get a haircut. :blushes:

I would probably have to say "easy-going" (even if it does count as two words). :)

10. Tell me the meaning of  your DA username?

My Upcoming Birthday

Journal Entry: Wed Jan 6, 2016, 1:52 PM
Because of it being a new year for me and everyone else here on DeviantArt, I was in the mood for updating my journal entries by installing a new skin, which I decided to choose based on Sonic The Hedgehog because of this year being the 25th Anniversary of the Blue Blur. Speaking of which, this year also happens to mark my 30th birthday, which will be taking place on January 28. Even though I may be getting older as time passes, I'll probably still be a kid at heart until the day I die, especially since I've always been rather different due to me being the only person in my family with a mild case of autism, thus making it kind of hard for anyone else to understand me completely, and I also tend to behave more like a kid instead of the kind of adult that is considered "mature" to some people. In case anybody is wondering, I actually do know how to live independently on my own and take good care of myself, so I'm not completely hopeless except when it comes to asking for something from somebody. Anyway, I'm actually hoping that some of my friends will be able to help celebrate my birthday by doing some gift art for me just like last year, and I'm more than willing to give some ideas for some of my friends who are planning to draw something for my birthday as well. Other than that, I just hope that my birthday will turn out to be quite nice, and that I'll be in a much more optimistic mood by January 28. Thank you, and happy drawing!

Emotional During The Holidays

Journal Entry: Tue Dec 29, 2015, 11:46 AM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

Because of the holiday season coming to a close for this year, I feel like wanting to let everyone know how I've been feeling lately. Normally, I would usually feel happy and pleased after Christmas comes and goes like I do every other year, but this year is kind of different for me, and it's even put me in a deep blue funk. For example, I expected the weather to be pleasantly cool where I live in Indiana around this time of year, but instead it ended up being unseasonably warm all week, even though it did cool off a little on Christmas Day; Not too mention we had quite a few thunderstorms with heavy rain not too long ago, and I even heard that parts of Texas were also hit by tornadoes. In a way, the warm weather kinda ruined the holiday season for everyone who expected snow in the Midwest.

Another thing that bothered me about Christmas this year was the fact that I didn't get exactly what I wanted for Christmas, which made me feel rather discouraged, since I tend to get my hopes up whenever I tell my family exactly what I want only to end up getting something different. In case anybody's wondering, the things that I was able to get for Christmas this year include: A copy of "Mario Party 10" with a Mario Amiibo, $100, a couple pairs of blue jeans, a couple of t-shirts that don't actually fit me (which means I'd have to take them back), and a season pass for a local theme park called Holiday World. Even though some of these gifts I got this year were really great, what I really hoped to get for Christmas this year was a Blu-ray copy of the movie "Pixels" and some other Mario game on the Nintendo Wii U that I asked for such as "Mario Kart 8" and/or "Super Mario Maker". Now, I could use the $100 that I received to buy any of the things that I didn't get, but I feel it wouldn't quite be the same as getting what I wanted for Christmas, since I would probably save the money for something bigger (like a new TV), and I even felt negatively about the season pass that my sister bought for me, which also counts as a gift for my 30th birthday coming up next month (January 28).

As a result of my negative attitude, I even expressed somewhat negatively about a picture that was done by my good friend shinragod as part of his "Twelve Requests Of Christmas" project, in which he was even kind enough to include me as well:

12 Days for Caseydecker by shinragod

Even though this is such a nice and sweet picture that he did featuring my Team Shinobi girls (Hayai Bunny, Whitnee Squirrel, and Shizu Siam), I kind of expected them to be doing something different than I had hoped, especially because of not many people being able to draw pictures involving my "T.U.F.F. Puppy" characters in any clever situations, and I feel really bad about the way I judged the picture that he did for me after checking it out for the first time. One thing's for sure, I should really be thankful that he would be able to take his time to draw something for a troubled guy like me, and I really do try my best to be on his good side like everyone else I know. I don't want him to be discouraged by my negative feelings recently, and I would definitely like to repay him in any possible way as well.
As I'm posting this journal entry, I also learned that my best friend Sillkung will be deactivating her DA account soon, which has made me feel quite uncomfortable because I totally did not expect this sort of thing to happen after taking a break not too long ago. Even though I will still be in touch with her on FurAffinity and Skype, it wouldn't exactly be the same on DeviantArt without her, and I think I should also close down the "Sabina+Akai" group that I created with her whenever she does leave, since I did include her as a co-founder after all. I'm actually hoping that she'll be able to read this journal by the time she leaves, and I just want her to know how much I really do love her, and she'll always have a special place in my heart.

My Plans For Christmas Eve

Journal Entry: Sun Dec 20, 2015, 1:15 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

Now that I have all my Christmas-themed requests completed and posted here on DeviantArt, I can try to work on the last few pictures that I plan on posting for Christmas this year. In the meantime, though, I though I'd like to discuss what I plan on doing for Christmas Eve this Thursday. Normally, my family would be able to have a get-together on the day before Christmas, but because my sister will actually be going to her boyfriend's family this year, we won't be able to do much this time. And so, I've decided that I would like to video chat with some of my friends on Skype and/or invite some friends over to my hometown in "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" on Christmas Eve (AKA Toy Day) in case nothing special happens for me. If anybody I know has a Skype account or a 3DS Friend Code (with or without a copy of ACNL) they'd like to share with me, then please feel free to let me know in any possible way. Thank you, and Happy Holidays!

Twelve Requests Of Christmas III - COMPLETE

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 28, 2015, 1:02 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

As everyone may already know by now, Thanksgiving has officially come to a close for this year, and it won't be long until it's time to start celebrating Christmas once again. Despite the last couple of journal entries that I was able to post while dealing with some emotional issues at the time, I have been starting to feel much better about myself for now, and I've also decided to go ahead and start accepting ideas for requests/gifts for twelve of my friends on DeviantArt as part of my annual "Twelve Requests Of Christmas" project. Last year when I did such a project, I was able to choose twelve of my friends that I wanted to draw pictures for as gifts that I would be able to post in time for Christmas; This year, however, I've decided to go with the first twelve people who are able to let me know what to draw for them, and I'll even update my journal regularly as well. If I'm unable to get twelve people to participate, I'll just pick whichever of my friends that I decide to draw pictures for in order to fill up the remaining spots on the list. Thank you, and happy drawing!

1. Only one request per person.
2. No simple comments like "I'd like to ask for a request" without letting me know what you'd want me to draw in the comment that's posted.
3. Multiple suggestions for each request are welcome.
4. When asking me to draw a picture involving an original character that I haven't drawn before, please provide a reference image of that character I could use.
5. Preferred maximum number of characters per request will be up to three or four, depending on how many characters I can fit in a single drawing.
6. No fetish-themed pictures such as paws, bondage, etc. (unless it's something holiday-related).
7. No human OCs or Ponies, please.
8. If you'd like to remain anonymous when asking me to draw a picture, then please feel free to send me a note.

Current Feelings About Sonic

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 14, 2015, 11:33 AM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

After being able to check out a rant journal entry posted by my good friend TheDogwhitaTail just recently, I've decided to do the same thing involving something similar that was on my mind. As everyone may already know, the last couple of Sonic games that have come out were the ones based on the "Sonic Boom" cartoon series on Cartoon Network - "Sonic Boom: The Rise Of Lyric" on the Nintendo Wii U, and "Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal" on the Nintendo 3DS - and everyone claims that they suck because of them being poorly designed and full of glitches almost like that of the infamous "Sonic The Hedgehog" on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (AKA "Sonic '06"). In case anybody is wondering, I've never been able to play either of those games despite how big of a Sonic fan I am, so I haven't been able to see them for myself except from a couple of video game reviews that I remember checking out on YouTube. But even so, it seems that everyone can't shut up about it, especially to the point where they claim that Sonic isn't a great video game hero anymore just because of these two particular games that have come out not too long ago.

Now, I'm not trying to defend Sonic just like I did eight years ago when trying to prove that the games he appeared in are still awesome to play (Heck, I even tried to defend "Sonic '06" until I actually played it for myself), but there's a reason why I can't stand hearing negative opinions about things that I truly enjoy... Those kind of opinions always tend to be hurtful towards those who are optimistic such as myself, and I end up believing that I can no longer enjoy what is being critized just because everyone else says so. This sort of thing also applies with how the Sonic games are being released today; Even though 2006 was kind of a lousy year for Sonic fans with most of the games being let-downs for anyone expecting something fun and/or enjoyable, it seems that Sega and Sonic Team were able to learn from their mistakes and make newer games that are a lot better to play, starting with "Sonic Unleashed" back in 2008 (which was kind of a slow start, but it's still a great game nonetheless). But then the "Sonic Boom" games come out a year ago, and what I hear from everyone who play them is something like "Oh, look! This new Sonic game is full of bugs and glitches! I guess that means Sonic is a terrible video game series now, AND NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO LIKE SONIC ANYMORE!!!"

See what I mean? I know it's kind of a drastic exaggeration, but I just wanted to prove a point about how such an negative attitude towards anyone can be both hurtful and unnecessary. I can understand there are quite a few bad games that the Blue Blur had appeared in over the years, even since the days of the Sega Saturn (which was also a lousy time for Sonic due to the cancellation of the promising title "Sonic X-Treme"), but that doesn't exactly mean that there weren't any good Sonic games that had come out over the years because there actually were, and it all depended on the people who developed each game as well. In this dude's case, the game companies that developed the Sonic games worth playing were usually Sega and/or Sonic Team, who were resposible for making the series quite appealing over the years. As for both "Sonic Boom" games, I recently found out that neither game were actually developed by Sega or Sonic Team, even though they were both published by Sega; For that reason, I wouldn't exactly consider either of the games to be classified as true Sonic games because they were developed by the wrong company, and they're also played rather differently as well (so I've heard, anyway).

Speaking of which, if there's two Sonic games that I think everyone should hate that are a lot worse to play than any of the other games I mentioned in my joural entry, it would have to be these following two titles that not many people even talk about for some odd reason: "Sonic Spinball" on the Sega Game Gear, and "Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis" on the Game Boy Advance. Without a doubt, both of these games are truly terrible to play because they were poorly-designed ports of existing games that were already fun and enjoyable, and they ended up being butchered in terms of quality - "Sonic Spinball" was a tad slower than its Genesis counterpart with sluggish controls, buggy graphics, and terrible sound; "Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis" was just a GBA port of the original Genesis game that suffered from a lot of slowdown and loose controls that made the game practically unplayable, even to die-hard Sonic fans who grew up with the series from the beginning.

I'm sorry if I'm able to upset anyone who was able to take their time when reading this journal entry, but I just felt like getting this sort of thing off my chest after hearing all kinds of negative opinions about one of my most favorite video game heroes some time ago, especially after being able to play "Sonic Lost World" on my Nintendo Wii U recently, which actually turned out to be an awesome game despite some of the gameplay changes to make it more original such as holding down one of the buttons to make Sonic run faster. Anyway, the point is that people shouldn't be able to judge certain things so harshly or even use bad games as an excuse to get everyone to stop liking video game series that everyone else still enjoy for whatever reason. And since next year will officially mark the 25th Anniversary of the Blue Blur, I decided to post my current thoughts about the franchise, and I certainly hope that Sega and Sonic Team will be able to make a really good game in time for Sonic's 25th birthday on June 23, which will definitely be a huge celebration for all Sonic fans for sure. I haven't heard any news about such a game, but one can only hope that it would be something like "Sonic Generations", which was a truly awesome game to play, and they seriously need to make more games just like that if they want to keep the series going till the end of time. 'Nuff said.

Feeling Tired And Uninspired...

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 6, 2015, 11:29 AM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

In case anybody is curious to know what I've been up to lately and why I haven't been active on here that much recently, I think I should let everyone know that I have been taking a break from posting my newest cartoon artwork on DeviantArt at the moment. After being able to post my last couple of pictures on here not too long ago, I've been feeling a little burnt trying to come up with some newer ideas of what to draw, which actually happened sometime after I completed my Halloween-themed pictures that I was able to post in time for Halloween this year, since a couple of those pictures took longer for me to complete, and I just didn't have enough time or inspiration to work on any other new pictures to post for this week as a result. I have been able to work on a couple of new drawings just recently that I'll be coloring in soon, but I don't really know what else to draw at the moment, and I was kind of hoping that some of my friends would even be able to give me some suggestions for ideas whenever I'm unable to come up with anything new on my own. So far, I've been in the mood for drawing more pictures involving "T.U.F.F. Puppy" fan characters, so maybe I should try to draw a set of pictures based on such a theme until I become inspired to draw anything else soon.

Speaking of which, I am also aware that Christmas is already coming this year, which means I'll be kind of busy trying to focus on what to get for my friends and family for the holidays like I do every year, and I'll even be working on some Christmas-themed pictures shortly after Thanksgiving as well. Even though I usually hold my "12 Requests Of Christmas" art project as a way of accepting ideas for pictures that I would draw for twelve of my friends during the Christmas season, I'm not exactly sure about wanting to do a similar project for this year, mainly because I felt that last year was kind of a letdown for me. I actually had no trouble drawing the pictures that my friends wanted me to draw for them, and I was even able to complete all my pictures in time for the holiday season, but the reason for me feeling unhappy after last year was because I ended up being left out of a similar Christmas-themed project that one of my friends was holding that involved him being able to draw twelve requests for everyone, and I was much too late to participate by the time I learned about it. This actually upset me greatly because some of my other friends who were lucky enough to get a picture from him were also those whom I was able to draw Christmas-themed requests for as well, and I felt like I should have also gotten something from him in return after making him one of the twelve artists that I chose to draw a Christmas-themed request for that year. As a result, I was practically mocked at and called 'loser' just because I didn't praticipate in my friend's project in time, which has been bothering me for quite some time for that reason alone. Now, I can understand that it's never good to focus on such feelings that would make me so unhappy, but I just wanted everything to turn out alright for me without me being treated like Charlie Brown all the time. If I'm going to continue drawing cartoons for a living (whether or not I actually get paid for my efforts), I'd really appeciate the support after I'm able to do the same for everyone else I know, and I do not wish to be sad and/or unhappy in a way that affects my mood to draw ever again.

New 3DS Friend Code

Journal Entry: Fri Sep 18, 2015, 9:02 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

I have decided to post this quick journal entry to let all my friends know that I have a new 3DS Friend Code that I'd like to share after being able to format my system just recently, and I was even able to send invites to all of my friends with Friend Codes that I had before so that I can re-add them to my Friend List. The reason for this unexpected change is because I was having problems trying to link my Nintendo Network account that I had created after setting up my Nintendo WiiU last year so that I can share my account on my 3DS and have access to certain features like the Nintendo eShop. In case anybody's wondering, nobody was able to take over my account in any way, so please don't be alarmed if you think there's two of me, since the original Friend Code that I used will no longer work. If anyone is still interested in exchanging Friend Codes with me, my new one is:

4614 - 0116 - 5483

If anyone else wants to add me to their WiiU Friend List, please feel free to send me a note so I can share my username privately with you just to be on the safe side. :thanks:

3. Which boss fight would you rather fight against? Jasper Batt, Jr. from "No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle," or Flame Hyenard from "Megaman X7"?
I would probably have to say Jasper Batt, Jr., mainly because of most human characters in the newer video games kinda suck IMO.

4. Have you ever gotten in trouble for something you didn't do?
Yes, I ended up losing my job at Dairy Queen for touching someone inapporpriately back in 2007, which I had absolutely nothing to do with at all, especially because I had such a lousy supervisor who, coincidentally, was fired sometime after that.

5. Besides Kitty/Kiara, who's your favorite Qittaswell Sister (If your OC's in the troupe, don't pick her)?
I would probably have to say either Malmsteen or Cassidy.

6. What do you think about my TUFF series "Team Katswell"?
It's pretty much okay, although I am not quite used to how Dudley is portrayed as being a dopey sidekick (a la Ron Stoppable from "Kim Possible") when I've personally found him to be much more appealing as just a big-hearted hero who always helps Kitty.

7. Whose side are you on in the Civil War - Captain America or Iron Man?
I would probably have to say Iron Man despite the fact that he's considered evil in the Marvel Civil War, which I find hard to believe because I've always found him to be my personal favorite member of the Avengers.

8. Who sang "Let it Go" better - Elsa or Luna?
I don't really know who Luna is, so I'd probably have to say Elsa for sure.

9. Pancakes or Waffles?
I actually like both, depending on what I'm in the mood for eating.

10. When you were a little kid, did you think that monsters were lurking underneath your bed?
No, I wasn't actually afraid of any monsters under my bed when I was a kid, but I did think there were rattlesnakes were under my bed for some odd reason, and I absolutely HATE rattlesnakes.

11. What toppings do you like to have on your pizzas?
I've always prefered both sausage and pepperoni on my pizza, and I don't usually eat pizza with just one of those toppings for that reason.

12. Have you entered to win a car or motorcycle at your local mall (even for your parents)?
No, I've never been to the mall that many times in my life, and I'm not exactly a person who is into motor vehicles that much, considering the fact that I don't have a driver's license at all.

13. Was there a movie you REALLY wanted to see, and once you saw it, you felt VERY disappointed with it?
I would probably have to say "Epic Movie", which I assumed would be just as funny as "Scary Movie 3", but it didn't feature any good celebrities that I know who appeared in the movie, so it was pretty much a let-down despite the number of recognizable movie references that were featured.

1. Have you ever been to Indiana at least once in your life?
2. Which type of roller coaster do you prefer more: Wooden or Steel?
3. What is your favorite sport that you like to play, if any?
4. Which of the following foods do you like to eat most: Burgers or Pizza?
5. What is your favorite beat-em-up game (NOT one-on-one fighting game) that you like to play, if any?
6. Have you ever rode on a water-slide before?
7. What is your most favorite season of the year?
8. What are your thoughts about country music?
9. What are your favorite foods that you like to eat with barbeque sauce, if any?
10. When riding a carousel, do you always prefer to ride on a horse or some other kind of animal?
11. Which type of starter Pokemon do you often pick: Grass, Fire, or Water?
12. Which of the original twelve playable characters in the "Super Smash Bros." games as always been your favorite to play as?
13. Excluding Whitnee, which of my Team Shinobi hero characters do you like most and why?

DeviantArtist Questionairre

Because I've noticed quite a few of my friends doing this sort of thing as part of DeviantArt's 15th Birthday this year, I have decided to go ahead and do it myself while also taking a short break from posting newer artwork, especially since I'll actually be going to my cousin's wedding this weekend. Thank you, and enjoy!

DeviantArtist Questionnaire

1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?
I've actually been a user on DA for six years, but the account I am currently using was created in late-2010 slash early-2011 after my original account ('casey64') was hacked into and deactivated by someone who hated me for some unnessecary reason.

2. What does your username mean?
It is basically my first name and last name put together so that my friends and watchers may be able to recognize me after what had happened to my original account.

3. Describe yourself in three words.
Shy. Friendly. Outgoing.

4. Are you left or right handed?
Like most people I know, I am right-handed.

5. What was your first deviation?
Whitnee Squirrel by CaseyDecker

6. What is your favourite type of art to create?
I absolutely love to draw pictures involving anthro animal characters as well as fan art pictures based on cartoons, video games, etc. that I enjoy so very much.

7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
I would definitely have to say my ability to draw comic strips really well, even though I am just starting to get much better at it.

8. What was your first favourite?
Xycole's Daisy by TheRealSneakers

9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
I usually favorite artwork that involves female anthro characters who are usually cute and/or sexy in some way (especially if there are outfits with long socks involved).

10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
I would probably have to say :iconshinragod: because he does a really nice and impressive job drawing anthro characters in his original style as well as characters from "Sly Cooper" and "T.U.F.F. Puppy", which does tend to make me feel inspired to help me come up with creative ideas of my own.

11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
I would definitely have to say :iconsillkung: because she happens to be my best friend that I was able to first meet on DA back in 2010, and I love to chat with her as much as possible whenever I get the chance as well.

12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
Quite a few of my friends on DA were able to show their support and help me come up with many original ideas for what to draw, which has helped me continue doing what I love most while trying to become more open to drawing cartoons as a way of entertaining everyone I know.

13. What are your preferred tools to create art?
Paper, pencils, pens, a scanner, and a picture-editing program like 'Paint Shop Pro X'.

14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
I would probably say a theme park in Indiana called Holiday World, which is not too far away from where I live (by 20 miles, I might add), and I usually feel quite inspired to get some new ideas of what I'm in the mood to draw after going on some of the rides as well.

15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
It's kind of hard for me to decide, but I would probably have to say the time that I got 50+ favs on a picture that I did of Felicia in her Midnight Bliss form in less than a day after it was posted, which definitely surprised me while I was checking my messages, proving that many people really do love what I'm able to draw all the time.

Inspiration Slowly Recovering

Journal Entry: Mon Jul 27, 2015, 1:57 PM

In case anybody is wondering how I've been feeling lately since my last journal entry that was posted, I have decided to let everyone know that I am actually starting to feel a little better at the moment, and I've also started to feel a bit more inspired to continue drawing once again. First of all, I am truly sorry if I've upset anyone about what I posted in my last journal entry (most notably when I mentioned about getting the urge to leave DeviantArt), but I'm sure that my friends would understand that I could never hurt anyone's feelings on purpose, especially when I end up taking my negative feelings out on myself just like I did not too long ago. I guess the reason that I've been feeling so confused and uninspired lately is because I was actually taking care of some personal things of my own, which has been rather stressful on my mind, thus making it kind of hard to focus on what to draw as well.

Just recently, I have decided to get some internet for my home so that I won't have to go someplace that has a wireless internet access such as a restaurant or the local library, in which I'd have to walk around on foot just to get around from place to place unless I'm able to get a ride from somebody, and it's even more troublesome having to go somewhere whenever it's extremely hot and/or rainy outside. Even though I could have gotten internet service some time ago, I wasn't exactly sure if I was able to get it on my own at first because I would need some kind of proof of credit in order to do so, and I don't even use (or own) a credit card at all; Instead, I was able to get a form in the mail that I'd have to notorize and send a fax to the internet provider, which also required a bit of unnecessary waiting in the process. As I'm posting this journal entry, I have yet to get connected because I also had to wait for a wireless modem to get sent to me via mail delivery. One thing's for sure, though, I will start to feel much better when I finally get some internet for my home once again so that I can keep in touch with my friends and family on Facebook as well as Skype, and I'd also be able to play most of the games for my Xbox 360 and Nintendo WiiU that require internet access just to play properly.

As for my inspiration, I was feeling much more inspired after going out to see the new movie "Pixels" in theaters this weekend, and it was definitely a good sci-fi/comedy movie involving aliens trying to conquer the world using pixeled sprites from many popular old-school video games from the 1980s, which was also a kind of clever concept that's sure to please many gamers who still enjoy playing those kind of games as well. As I've mentioned quite a few times before, much of the inspiration for my artwork usually comes from the cartoons and video games that I enjoy, and this movie was able to put me in a good mood despite the blue funk I've been dealing with some time ago, and I'm sure that I'll be starting to feel like my optimistic self whenever I get everything else taken care of soon.
