Nintendo WiiU: My Thoughts

Journal Entry: Fri Sep 12, 2014, 1:23 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

I am in the mood for posting a journal entry explaining my thoughts about the Nintendo WiiU, which I was able to play just recently. As I may have already mentioned quite a few times, I have always been a huge fan of Nintendo game systems, which I've enjoyed playing since I was a kid, and I also like to collect as many games for each system as part of my own personal collection to play every now and then. Anyway, I've actually been getting kind of bored playing games on my Nintendo Wii, which I've been playing ever since I bought my console back in 2008, so I felt like it was time for me to move on to Nintendo's current generation system. I was able to save up my money these past few months until I saved about $300 to purchase a Nintendo WiiU, which I decided to order online instead of buying one directly at a store like Wal-Mart so that way I wouldn't have to pay extra tax, and it arrived at my house less than a few days later. After taking my WiiU out of the box it was mailed in, I was able to set up the system without any trouble, and I started playing after being able to take care of some other things such as taking my dogs out for a walk and eating some dinner.

One of the most noteable features to come with the Nintendo WiiU would have to be the game pad controller, which is surprisingly huge for a device to play games with, and it has quite a few other features to make it even more unique. For instance, the game pad controller has a built-in touch screen that you can use as a second screen if you want to continue playing games while watching TV; It even allows you to adjust the volume and change the channel on your TV set by accessing the touch screen as well. The controller also has a camera and microphone very similar to the Nintendo DSi and/or Nintendo 3DS, both which I haven't been able to try out for any games just yet. When I was playing a game on my WiiU for the first time, I was able to notice that the controller also featured a volume switch and a headphone jack, which I was able to use because of my mother going to sleep while I was playing.

In case anybody is wondering which games I was able to get for my Nintendo WiiU, I was able to purchase the bundle pack that came with two titles on the same disc: "New Super Mario Bros. U" and "New Super Luigi U" (which is an alternate version of the game that was released to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Luigi). I was also able to buy a copy of the disc version of "DuckTales: Remastered" that I bought at a local Game Stop; Even though I already have the digital version of the game on my Xbox 360, I decided to get a physical copy for my WiiU while spending the rest of my money that was saved on my gift card that I got for Christmas last year. After finally being able to save up my money to get a Nintendo WiiU, I should be able to save up my money for some other games that I plan on getting soon such as "Mario Kart 8", "Sonic Lost Worlds", "Super Mario 3D World", and the new "Super Smash Bros." game that will be coming out soon.

Even though I've just started playing my Nintendo WiiU recently, I actually find it to be such an underrated system that was made for the current generation of video games, especially since the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have just come out not too long ago, and many gamers are paying attention to the games that are being released on both consoles; Personally, I don't really care which new games are available on either console, especially if it's a bunch of FPS games that are anything but enjoyable to a casual gamer such as myself. This is probably the reason why I've always preferred to play Nintendo game consoles - They always tend to focus on innovation and creativity for the games that are released on each console, which actually makes them worth playing no matter how old the gamers are. When it comes to designing video game consoles, Nintendo always does try to make each console quite unique for playing games on (with the exception of the Virtual Boy, despite how revolutionary it was at the time). The Nintendo WiiU may not have the same kind of powerful hardware as the other consoles of the current generation, but it does offer plenty of gameplay with the many familiar game titles that have been released on it so far, and I think that's all that should really matter most, especially if you're the kind of gamer who loves playing certain types of games just for fun.

Here is another journal meme that I felt like wanting to do after being able to check out something similar being done by one of my friends recently... The first twelve people who are able to post a comment on my journal entry will have their icons posted as well as three of their deviations I like most, which I will try to update as soon as possible. After doing so, please be sure to post a similar journal entry with the same rules if you'd like. Thank you, and enjoy!

10 Questions Meme

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 7, 2014, 1:47 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

I was recently tagged by my good friend :iconshinragod:, who was able to ask me ten questions that I am able to answer, and I'd have to come up with ten questions of my own and tag as many people as I'd like afterwards. Even though I was able to answer these questions on my friend's journal entry not too long ago, I felt like wanting to repost my answers for everyone else to check out, especially after doing some changes for my original answers. Thank you, and enjoy.

1. Do you have your future planned out?
I don't really know how to plan for my future, mainly becuase I find it to be pretty much unpredictable for me, and I think it's much easier to just focus on the present without having to worry so much about the future. :hmm:

2. What's your favorite candy bar?
My favorite candy bar would have to be Nestle Chunky, which is a type of candy bar that contains peanuts and raisins. :lick:

3. Most admired person in real life?
I would have to say Jim Davis (the creator of "Garfield") and 'Weird Al' Yankovic because of them being a couple of famous people who are able to inspire me all the time. :D

4. What type of exercise do you do?
I'm able to walk around town on foot every day, but I also do a set of toe-touches before going to bed each night. :)

5. Is being creative just your hobby or part of your lifestyle?
It's actually a bit of both for me, especially since I still dream of being a cartoonist. :D

6. What upcoming movie do you look forward to seeing the most?
It's kind of hard for me to decide (since I don't really know many movies that will be coming out), but I have heard about a live-action movie based on "Sonic The Hedgehog" that's currently being made, so I am definitely looking forward to it whenever such a movie comes out. :excited:

7. Have you ever visited or plan on visiting other countries?
I've never visted another country before, but I am hoping to go to Sweden someday so I can meet my best friend from deviantART in person. :)

8. Your favorite game of all time? (Video or board...either or)
I have over a ton of favorite games that I love to play, but I was able to make a list of my Top 10 Favorite Video Games of all time, which can be found here: fav.me/d6u86aa

9. What's your greatest fear?
I think that would be not having anymore friends or family members by my side. :worry:

10. Feel like some people have labelled you as something you feel is unfair?
Yes, I have been called a few things that are definitely untrue and unfair, which does tend to happen once in while for a misunderstood guy such as myself. :(

MY QUESTIONS TO ASK:
1. Who is your favorite OC that you've created so far?
2. How are you usually able to draw your pictures that you post on here?
3. What type of music do you enjoy listening to when you draw?
4. Which do you think are better - socks or gloves?
5. What is your favorite kind of animal to draw?
6. Do you have a favorite sport that you like to play/watch?
7. How do you feel about gender-bent versions of characters?
8. Which do you usually drink - soda or beer?
9. Do you have any other hobbies besides drawing?
10. Have you ever been bullied by someone online or in real life?

How I've Been Feeling Lately...

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 2, 2014, 1:31 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

Because I've been feeling kind of bored lately after Labor Day weekend, I think I'd like to talk about some things that have been on my mind recently to my friends and watchers here on deviantART... As everyone may know, summer is about to come to an end sometime this month, and I've actually been in the mood for drawing a couple of summer-themed pictures involving my Team Shinobi characters, despite how late it may be for me to draw anything else for summer; I would also like to take this opportunity to work on some pictures in time for autumn, which happens to be one of my most favorite seasons of the year, especially when the temperatures start to drop where I live. There has been a lot of things that have been happening for me this summer, and I think it's kind of a shame that I never actually got around to drawing as many summer-themed pictures as I hoped, including some newer pictures that I wanted to draw featuring my "T.U.F.F. Puppy" characters, which I've been wanting to draw a lot more ever since I created my own group of heroes-for-hire known as 'Team Shinobi'. However, I have been dealing with another art block that made it kinda hard for me to focus on my artwork, especially since I was also spending the weekend at my sister's house watching her pet dogs while she and her boyfriend were away for the weekend. And so, I don't really have many pictures to post on here for this week, so I decided to take a couple days off dA except when checking my messages so that I can get to work on some pictures that I need to complete before I forget.

I am also planning on getting myself a Nintendo WiiU very soon after finally being able to save up my money for this month, and I'll even try to purchase a couple of games that I've been wanting to play for quite some time after feeling a bit left out of the Nintendo fandom lately such as "Super Mario 3D World" and "Mario Kart 8". Now, I just hope that no one thinks of me as some kind of loser just because I haven't been able to play most of the newer Nintendo games that have come out in the past couple of years, but I don't think that catching up to any video games that I missed out on when they were originally released is meant to be a bad thing at all, especially since I've been able to do the same for all the video games for the older consoles that I remember being out when I was a kid (such as the NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis), which I was able play a lot more often since my days in high school. I know this may sound kind of ironic, but another reason that feel like wanting to play "Mario Kart 8" is so that I can be able to draw a picture or two involving any of my original characters racing in MK vehicles after being able to see some similar pictures that were done by my friends :iconicartoonfantic: and :iconshinragod:, and that I wouldn't feel left out anymore while doing so, even though I know they are still great friends who are always so supportive of me. I guess it's just a typical feeling that I've been having lately, since I've actually become prone to jealously as long as I could remember, and there are still times in which I feel like I just want to be appreciated as much as everyone else I know, especially when drawing something completely random on my mind that I'd want to share on dA.

And while I'm on the subject, I would also like to let everyone know about some changes that I have decided to make involving some of my Team Shinobi characters. For instance, I've decided to give the youngest member of the team, Shizu Siam, a completely different weapon from now on: Instead of a seemingly endless supply of shuriken (AKA ninja stars), Shizu's new weapon would be a pair of bladed fans almost similar to the ones used by Kitana from the "Mortal Kombat" games. I was even thinking of giving Mackey Que a true ninja weapon instead of him just using his tools as weapons; If anyone knows of any other ninja weapons that would be perfect for him to use, I would appreciate any suggestions, which I'll respond to as soon as possible. As for Shaun Inu (Dudley's Japanese cousin), I have decided to make his personality much more comical by having him constanly trying to impress every sexy female character he would meet, wheither they are good or evil, and he would occassionally fail by getting the snot kicked out of him, but he'd never give up afterwards. Other than that, I should be quite good on drawing more pictures after getting some ideas that are sure to inspire me soon enough.

My deviantART Story

Journal Entry: Thu Aug 7, 2014, 3:37 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

As a way of celebrating deviantART's 14th Birthday this year, I have decided to write this short story involving my life as a cartoon artist so far, and how deviantART has inspired me to continue drawing and becoming a proud user of this awesome site as well...

As far back as I can remember, I've been the type of person who's always enjoyed cartoons as I was growing up as a kid. Ever since I learned how to draw back when I was in kindergarten, it was one of my most favorite hobbies that I've enjoyed, and I remember being able to doodle nonstop as long as I had a pencil/pen and some paper. A lot of the things that I liked to draw were practically inspired by my favorite cartoon shows and video games that I still enjoy to this day. I'll admit, my drawings back then weren't really that good at all, and I was just an amateur at such an early age, but I was still able to doodle whenever I got the chance.

As I started growing up, my drawing skills started to improve slightly, and I was also able to create my own original cartoon characters whom I've become quite attached to over the years. Back when I was in 7th Grade, I was able to do a bunch of comic strips staring a Dalmatian character that I named 'Lucky' (presumably after the puppy from the Disney movie "101 Dalmatians"); Many of the gags that I used for my earlier comics were practically based off of strips from the "Garfield" books that I've read over the years, and "Garfield" happens to be one of my favorite cartoons that inspired me to draw as well. And so, Lucky had become one of my favorite characters I've ever created, and I was able to draw him and a few other characters that I was also able to create on my own, which I may be able to share with everyone else in the future.

I continued drawing cartoons even after graduating from high school in 2004, and I was also able to develop certain tastes for the types of cartoon characters that I like to draw. I realized that most of the characters that I've loved most happen to be animals that are anthropomorphic, or human-like in appearance, which is kind of understandable because I've always been incredibly shy around other people in person, and I tend to find myself interested in cartoon animals a lot for some reason as well.

It wasn't until 2009 when I discovered deviantART, which is an art website that can allow me to show off my original artwork for all to see. At first, it was kind of difficult for me get everyone else to notice my cartoon artwork right away, but then I found out that I needed to comment the artwork of all the other artists who were able to post their artwork on a regular basis, which I've been able to make quite a habit of before posting my own artwork. It took a bit of time to get noticed, but sure enough, I was able to get a lot of support and inspiration from the other artists that would allow me to continue drawing my pictures, and I've also began to develop friendships with other fellow artists who are nice enough become friends with the same interests as me.

Shortly after becoming a member of deviantART, I decided to continue creating some new original characters for me to draw. One of my newer original characters happens to be none other than Whitnee Squirrel, a female white squirrel who has become one of my most favorite characters ever since I started drawing her. Part of Whitnee's inspiration actually came from a webcomic series called "Sabrina Online", in which one of the main characters was a female squirrel named Amy, inspiring me to create my own female squirrel character who was sexy. I was then able to develop a unique personality for my character to have, in which she loves video games and anything related to Japan, and she also has a fond interest in ninjas as well. I've loved Whitnee so much over the years that I was also able to create one of my own "T.U.F.F. Puppy" fan characters who would be loosely based off her while being a completely different character altogether. In a way, Whitnee has become a character that I wanted everyone to love, and she has managed to gain quite a few fans over the years as well.

Even though I've had a lot of good times here on deviantART, I've also had a couple of bad times as well. For instance, sometime ago back in 2010, I ended up being confronted by someone who hated me for no reason, and he managed to hack into my dA account and deactivate it. I was so distraught by what had happened that I had no other choice but to create a new account, which I've had for quite a while now and I still use to this day.

Of course, I probably wouldn't have gotten this far without any support from my friends, who have always been here for me, and they've always been able to give me the inspiration needed to continue drawing cartoons while feeling like a true pro (even if I still need a little practice). Even if I'm not actually able to meet them in person, I still feel that they do care a lot about me by being so understanding and thoughtful whenever they're able to share something with me, and I try my best to do the same despite my stubbornness and shyness. Because of how grateful I have to have such awesome friends, I'd like to take the opportunity to give a friendly shout-out to some of the following users whom I consider as true friends to me on here:

:iconwolf492: :icongeminijc: :iconkbafourthtime: :icontiny-toons-fan: :iconmintymousyxfce: :iconwolfn85: :iconkidokoala: :iconlatinnewyorker: :iconsmutsblod: :iconlouiseugeniojr: :iconmagic-kristina-kw: :icongermanname: :iconchipmunkraccoon2: :iconbrandonthebunny: :iconherroroo: :icontuffagentshepherd: :iconshinragod: :iconivan-elterrible: :iconhai-kulture: :iconsuiish: :iconacpawz: :iconprettyfoxxylady: :iconalukasherzblut: :iconcyberboy7000: :iconstockings300: :iconprincesstales: :iconicartoonfantic: :iconcreative-dreamr: :iconksapphire8989: :iconxxneonpurplexx: :iconalexandersie: :iconeelball:

TMNT IV - The Movie That Never Was

Journal Entry: Wed Aug 6, 2014, 1:21 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

As everyone may already know by now, this upcoming weekend happens to be the opening weekend for the new TMNT movie that will be shown in theaters on August 8, and I decided to share something quite interesting that I just found out recently about the Heroes Of The Half Shell... When I was playing my copy of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up" on the Nintendo Wii not too long ago, I was able to unlock some bonus content that included the official artwork for an unmade live-action movie entitled "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: The Next Mutation", which was most likely to be made sometime ago in the mid-1990s when the Ninja Turtles were still popular back in the day (before they were briefly outshined by the Power Rangers, that is). From what I found out about this movie, the plot was about the Ninja Turtles and their rat sensei, Splinter, having a bit of the mutagen ooze that transformed them into their mutant forms still trapped inside their bodies, which would result in them being mutated into different forms and giving them each different abilities as well. The artwork I was able to check out showed how each of the characters would look in their new mutated forms, and there was a description of what each of the mutations were like for each character:

:bulletblue: Leonardo would have the ability to change his skin into any type such as fire, ice, rock, spiky, etc.
:bulletpurple: Donatello would have psychic abilities and telekenisis that would greatly affect his sight, so he'd have to wear a special device he invented that allows him to see better.
:bulletred: Raphael would be able to transform into a ferocious beast with sharp claws, pointy teeth, and a spiky shell as a result of his inner rage and short temper.
:bulletorange: Michelangelo would have the ability to make himself become completely human-like in appearance, allowing him to hang out with human people on the surface.
:bulletgreen: Splinter would be able to transform into a monstrous beast almost like that of Raphael, in which he would also have very little control over.

I think it's kind of obvious to guess that this movie was originally planned to be made shortly after the release of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III", which didn't actually go over too well like the original two films that came out before it, and as a result, the movie was never made at all. The way I see it, being the TMNT fan that I've always been since I was a kid, I think it would have been a rather interesting movie, and it probably would have also borrowed various elements from the Mirage Studios comics, which were much darker and more serious than the 1980s/1990s cartoon series that everyone knows and loves. Even though such a movie would probably never be made (unless Michael Bay decides to purchase the rights for it), we fans can only imagine what the movie itself would be like, and I would definitely go out and see it for sure.

I Am 68% Addicted To My OCs

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 4, 2014, 1:24 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

Taken from my good friend :iconshinragod:...

[X] You have an OC that resembles yourself. (Yes, that would be my fursona, Casey Squirrel.)
[X] One of your OC's has your name. (Once again, that would be my fursona.)
[X] You have OC's that are siblings. (Yes, and they would include Whitnee's sister Jade, who was actually created by one of my friends, and Goldie's brothers, Fred and Skyler.)
[X] You constantly receive positive feedback about one or more of your OC's. (Yes, I receive a lot of positive comments on my pictures involving my characters, including Whitnee).

Total: 4

[X] You have more than five OC's. (Yes, I have a ton of characters I've created that I still like to draw to this day.)
[X] Your OC's are varied. (Well, it all depends on what that means, but I'll count it, anyway.)
[X] You have a main OC whom you love the most out of all your OC's. (Yes, that would be Whitnee Squirrel!)
[ ] Your OC's are mostly mythical. (I wouldn't exactly consider anthro animal characters as 'mythical', so they don't count to me.)
[ ] A lot of your OC's were adoptables. (No, I was able to create most of my original characters on my own.)

Total: 7

[X] You have a 'bad boy' or 'bad girl' OC. (If you count my "T.U.F.F. Puppy" character, Yami, as a bad girl character, then yes.)
[X] You have a girly OC. (Even though I have a lot of characters who are girls, I guess the one that would count as 'girly' to me would be Sandra Panda.)
[ ] You have a 'cool' or 'sly' OC. (Not that I know of...)
[X] You have a sporty OC. (Yes, Goldie Fox and her best friend, Rita Cheetah, happen to be athletic characters who love to play sports.)
[X] You have a fun OC. (Yes, Whitnee has always been the fun type with her unique passion for video games and anything Japanese-related.)

Total: 11

[ ] You have a lot of 'perfect' OC's. (Eh, I don't really know what "perfect" is when it comes to creating characters...)
[/] You have a lot of 'imperfect' OC's. (Sometimes I feel that my characters are "imperfect", especially if they're not able to get the attention they truly deserve.)
[/] Most of your OC's are part of a fandom. (Most of my characters are completely original while I have quite a few characters from the "T.U.F.F. Puppy" fandom as well as a Sonic character named Abby The Squirrel.)
[X] Most of your OC's are non-fandom. (Heh, I believe I've answered that already...)

Total: 13

[ ] You have gotten a polished toy, framed art, ect. made of your OC. (No, but I think it would be truly nice if someone created a toy of Whitnee Squirrel as a gift for me...)
[X] You are constantly talking about your OC's to friends. (Yes, I like to draw my original characters a lot, so I'm always talking about them.)
[X] The first thing you did on dA was make an OC. (I've actually created lots of original characters before I became a proud member of deviantART, but I was also able to create more characters afterwards, including Whitnee Squirrel.)
[X] Your OC participates in a role play. (Yes, I've had quite a few people do role-playing with Whitnee lots of times.)
[X] You have made your OC in a game. (If you count certain video games like "Drawn To Life" and "WarioWare D.I.Y.", then I guess you can say that I have.)

Total: 17

Now add your totals all together
Then times them by 4
Then title your journal as "I'm --% addicted to my ocs"

Retro Video Game Collecting

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 10, 2014, 1:19 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

Because I've got nothing too important to focus on right now, I feel like wanting to talk about something that I've been interested in doing for quite some time now... As you may probably know after learning much about me, one of my main interests has always been video games, which I've enjoyed throughout my entire life as long as I could remember, and I've always liked to play them whenever I get the chance. After graduating from high school ten years ago to this day, I was able to get some money on my own, which I've been using a certain amount each month to collect video games on my favorite game consoles that I still enjoy playing, including the NES and SNES. Even though I also like to collect video games on the newer consoles that I'm able to buy with my money that I save up such as the Nintendo 3DS, I've decided to focus on collecting the games on the older consoles that I fondly remember as a kid, but never actually got to play until I was much older (especially since my dad would always get onto me with his "There's more to like than video games" shtick, which is pretty much unnecessary to say to a person of my mental condition). Anyway, I was able to buy the games I collected at places like yard sales, thrift stores, and any other place that sells used video games; I also found it convenient to purchase used video games online from websites such as Amazon and Ebay. Instead of just trying to buy a copy of EVERY single video game on a console that I enjoy, I prefer to collect the games that I like to play if I find them to be quite enjoyable in some way; Just for the fun of it, I've also decided to keep at least a few copies of some "bad" games that I was able to buy for no less than a dollar at a local thrift store in case I feel like wanting to play something that isn't exactly good, which is kind of a nod to James Rolfe's now-famous internet character, The Angry Video Game Nerd. Because of how big my list of games actually is, I was thinking of posting the list of video games that I certainly own on my favorite game systems on a separate journal entry or two that I might be able to post on here soon. In the meantime, please feel free to share your thoughts if you're the kind of person who has an interest in collecting used video games as well.

Feeling A Little Better Now...

I have decided to post this journal entry to let everyone know how I've been feeling lately. As you've probably known from my previous journal entry, I was having a kind of frustrating time trying to figure out what to draw for Independence Day this year, which greatly affected my mood to draw recently. Well, I was finally able to decide on what type of picture that I'm in the mood to draw, which I should have plenty of time to get done by Indenpendence Day on Friday. Anyway, I've decided to work on an Independence Day-themed picture of Team Shinobi, since I felt like wanting to draw more pictures involving my newer "T.U.F.F. Puppy" characters after not being able to draw them as much as I originally planned, mainly because I was so easily distracted by everything else going on in my life, and I've been kept busy drawing pictures as gifts, commissions, trades, etc. for all my friends here on deviantART. Now that I'm in the mood to draw once again, I'm actually starting to regain my confidence a little, and I should also try practicing my art skills if I start feeling like I'm having trouble drawing something in a certain way. One of the main reasons for me not being able to focus on my artwork recently was because my sister actually asked me to watch her pet dogs at her place while she and her boyfriend have gone away on vacation to Florida for over a week, in which I'm able to live on my own until they come back the following Sunday, and I'll be getting $40 from my sister for doing a good job as well. Because I'll be at my sister's house for the rest of the entire week, I probably won't be able to draw that much, but I'll be able to keep myself busy one way or another, and I should try to upload some pictures that I've been holding off for posting since they were done last year, which should also help me focus on drawing some newer pictures whenever I get back home sometime next Sunday, though I will have to go back to my house and pick up my scanner in order to scan my new picture that I'm currently working on. Other than that, I should be feeling good as long as nothing else happens that would make me feel so stressful again.

Artwork Problems

I've got some bad news that I feel like wanting to tell my friends in this quick journal entry that I've posted... I've been feeling very puzzled and confused lately for some strange reason, which especially makes it difficult for me to continue drawing as well as focus on anything else going on in my life. I don't know if it's yet another art block that I'm dealing with once again, but I've also been feeling kind of uninspired to draw anything at the moment. I'm currently in the middle of working a couple of pictures that I need to get done in time for my friends' birthdays this weekend, and I'm also struggling to work on a picture that I'd like to post in time for Independence Day like I do every other year; I managed to get at least one of my friends' birthday pictures completed last night, and I'm actually in the middle of drawing something for my other friend's birthday. As for my Independence Day picture, I have absolutely no idea what to draw right now, since my confusion just started shortly after I was figuring out what to draw. I don't even know what to do, since I want to continue drawing cartoons for the rest of my life, and I just want to get rid of this unusual feeling that I'm currently dealing with once and for all. If anyone has any suggestions about what I can draw for Indepence Day (or what I can do to feel like my optimistic self again), then please feel free to list them, and I'll be sure to check your suggestions as soon as possible.

A New TMNT Movie

Journal Entry: Wed Jun 18, 2014, 2:04 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

Even though I've just been starting to recover from my depression that I've been dealing with not too long ago, I am kind of in the mood for talking about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which has been on my mind once again. Now, like every kid who grew up in the late 1980s and/or early 1990s, I was one of those kids who practically loved anything and everything related to TMNT; I remember that I would check out all kinds of sweet merchandise that I've always wanted to own, including some of the awesome-looking action figures that Playmates used to released that were based on the various characters from the classic cartoon series (as well as some characters who didn't even exist on the show including Sergent Bananas, Monty Moose, Sandstorm, Hot Spot, and the original version of Pizza Face). I also remember about the movies that had come out over the years, which is what I mainly want to talk about in this journal entry I've posted... As every die-hard TMNT fan may already know by now, there will be a new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" live-action movie that will be coming out this summer in August, and it happens to be produced by Michael Bay, the very same guy who was behind the "Transformers" live-action movies. After being able to see the trailer for myself, one thing I was able to notice for sure was how the Ninja Turtles looked in this new movie; They appeared to be much larger in size than how they're usually portrayed in the comics and cartoon shows, and their faces were designed in a way that makes them a bit more turtle-like in appearance. But even so, I shouldn't actually complain about how the heroes I've grown up with in my childhood days would look in their new designs, just as long as the characters themselves would be portrayed the same way like they've always been in the other movies and cartoon shows with Leonardo being the noble leader who is brave and skilled, Donatello being the technical genius who is the geek of the bunch, Raphael being the hot-headed tough guy with a passion for fighting, and Michelangelo being the fun-loving turtle with a colorful sense of humor. Despite how different the movie looks compared to the older movies that have come out before it, I still plan on going out to see it for myself on the weekend it is released, since I still happen to be a huge fan of the Heroes In A Half-Shell, and it might actually be more a little more enjoyable to watch than the CG-animated movie "TMNT", which wasn't exactly the best Ninja Turtles movie ever made IMO.

While we're on the topic here, I would also like to point out that this year happens to mark the 30th Anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who have made their debut in the comic books since 1984 (a couple of years before I was even born, I might add), and they've become a national phenomenon that is still growing popular to this day. If you've had any fond memories of the teen green team and what you've always liked most about them, then please feel free to share your thoughts, since I do enjoy hearing from my friends as much as possible, especially if I'm feeling a little down at the moment.

An Emotional Wreck

Journal Entry: Sun Jun 8, 2014, 7:28 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

Because I feel like I'm in an emotional wreck for some reason, I decided to write a journal entry explaining how I've been feeling lately. This past week has actually been pretty good to me despite the unpredictable weather that's happened in my hometown - I was able to go out shopping on Thursday, and I bought myself a copy of "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" for my Nintendo 2DS as well as the entire "Robocop" trilogy on Blu-ray; On Saturday, I was able to go to a theme park called Holiday World with my sister and her boyfriend, which I've been able to go to at least once a year ever since I was a kid, and I've had such a wonderful time as always. But even though I've had some very nice times spent recently, I've just started feeling kind of unhappy after getting back on deviantART for some strange reason... While checking out some nice-looking artwork that was posted by some of my friends during my recent absence, I've kind of felt left out that I wasn't able to check my messages sooner, since I usually check out my friends' artwork shortly after it is posted. I've also had a bit of trouble working on some newer pictures that I plan on posting sometime next month, since I'm trying very hard to figure out some summer-themed artwork that I'd like to work on almost like I did last year, and I haven't any ideas of what I'd like to draw or which characters to include for each picture as well. As for art trades, I haven't had much luck being able to do any pictures that I'd like to draw because I've become more interested in doing art trades for certain artists whose artwork has always been just as nice-looking and awesome as mine. Examples of such truly-talented artists include:

:iconmintymousyxfce: :iconshinragod: :iconwtfeather: :iconticklelabs: :iconchikiyo-wolf: :iconpawsnfurs: :iconicartoonfantic: :iconooo-belise-ooo: :iconxxneonpurplexx: :iconluna777: :iconlatinnewyorker: :iconwolfroxy:

I guess the reason why I've been focusing on these particular artists (who are also my friends) is because I feel that my artwork should be just as noticable and appealing when compared to what my friends are able to draw on a regular basis, especially the way I draw my characters in my style has actually been greatly improving over the years ever since I've been a dA user back in 2009. I also feel like I'm being treated like some kind of sidekick who only does artwork for just about anyone nice enough to ask, and I sometimes feel that just isn't enough for an artist such as myself who's having such a difficult time trying to figure out what to do with his life, especially if I'm incredibly shy in real life and I tend to feel quite lonely every now and then. Maybe it's just my inner demons that have been coming back to torment me once again, which makes it very hard for me to feel like my optimistic self. But one thing's for sure, I just feel like wanting to hear from my friends a little more often whenever I'm online, and I could definitely use some cheering up in the best possible way as well. :(

T.U.F.F. Puppy - New Thoughts

Journal Entry: Wed May 21, 2014, 7:22 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

I am posting this journal entry because I have some newer thoughts involving the Nickelodeon cartoon show "T.U.F.F. Puppy" that I feel like wanting to get out of my mind before I forget. Lately, I've been thinking about the titular hero, Dudley Puppy, and I've been kind of worried that most fans of the show don't actually like him as much as Kitty Katswell. This sort of thing is starting to bother me because I think Dudley is actually one likeable character who deserves a bit more respect from the fans who still enjoy watching the show; Sure, he may be stupid and childish at times, but that's only half of what makes him rather unique for a main character on the show... Dudley is usually the one who often saves the day, especially if Kitty is in a perilous situation, and he's always able to save her in the nick of time as well. While it's true that Dudley is completely slow-witted, everyone tends to forget that he also has a really big heart (both figuratively and literally speaking), which I think is an important factor for him becoming an awesome hero in the first place. In fact, I was able to watch the episode "A Tale Of Two Kitties" not too long ago, and I actually found it to be a perfect example of Dudley's trust and loyalty to Kitty, particularly on the ending after Kitty's villainous twin sister, Katty, was taken back to prison; Even though Dudley's stupidity tended to drive Kitty crazy in that episode, it's not like Dudley was doing anything bad on purpose, and I think it's kind of unnecessary to get mad at him if he always does the right thing after learning his lesson in each episode. In fact, Kitty has even admitted that she does, indeed, like having Dudley as her partner because of him being very loyal and thoughtful to her despite his stupidity, and I even liked how they were shown to have 'Best Partners' charm necklaces in that episode, which I think is such a cute moment that also made it one of my new favorite episodes in the series as well.

Lately, though, I've been looking at some stories that have had Dudley being portrayed as a bad character who gets punished at the end for being stupid, which I think is completely wrong, because as I pointed out before, he's actually one of those characters whose heart is way bigger than his brain, and I'm even able to portray him the right way whenever I draw pictures or write stories involving the T.U.F.F. Trio (Dudley, Kitty, and Whitnee). In case anybody's wondering, I am not trying to be overly-protective of Dudley just because he's the main star of this awesomely underrated cartoon; I'm just trying to point out what makes him so appealing to me ever since I started watching the show since it first aired on Nickelodeon. In a way, I guess you might even say that I've become a true honest fan who's enjoyed watching just about every episode that's aired no matter how cheesy some the jokes are in certain episodes; I'll admit, though, I did almost stop liking the show after watching the episode "Till Doom Does Apart" until they started to continue airing the newer episodes on Nicktoons Network, and these newer episodes helped restore my faith in the series by making Dudley and Kitty as likeable as they've always been to me.

As I'm writing this journal entry, I'm actually kind of worried about how my opinion about "T.U.F.F. Puppy" would affect some of my friends who are able to read it, especially if they're die-hard fans of Kitty. Even so, I would appreciate any feedback about what everyone thinks, and I feel like wanting to chat with anyone who's interested in this particular topic that I'm able to share on here.

Character Interviews: Whitnee Squirrel

Journal Entry: Wed May 7, 2014, 12:56 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

After being able to check out some character interviews that were done by my good friend :icontuffagentshepherd:, I have decided to do one involving the "T.U.F.F. Puppy" version my original character, Whitnee Squirrel. And so, without further ado, here is the main star of the hour...

1. What is your name?
"My name is Whitnee Squirrel."

2. Do you know why you're named that?
"I guess I'm named that because of my white fur. I know that my sister is named 'Yami' because it means 'darkness' in Japanese."
3. Are you single or taken?
"I'm single."

4. Have any powers or abilities?
"I am incredibly skilled in the ways of the ways of the ninja, which I've actually been gifted since I was a kid, but I was able to master them more so by training under a sensei outside my hometown for over a year before leaving to Petropolis."

5. What's your eye color?
"My eye color is dark brown."

6. What's your hair color?
"My hair color is black."

7. Do you have any family members?
"Yes, I have a family who still lives in my hometown in Japan, but I also have a twin sister named Yami, who's always trying to defeat me in battle just to prove that she's a better ninja than I am."

8. Oh? And, how about pets?
"I don't really have any pets, mainly because the apartment I live in doesn't allow pets."

9. Tell me something you DON'T like.
"I don't like seeing my friends fighting and arguing with each other for no reason, which makes me feel kind of unhappy. I've seen Dudley and Kitty fighting with each other a couple of times, but I've made sure it doesn't happen when they do because they're heroes just like me, and I know that they've always liked each other when working together as partners, since I've also seen them hug each other a lot more times in the past as well."

10. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
"I'm mostly practicing my ninja skills, but I like to do anything else that my friends are doing."

11. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?
"Well I have beaten up bad guys a lot since I first arrived at Petropolis, but I would never hurt my friends or anyone else who's innocent."

12. What kind of animal are you?
"I'm a squirrel, of course."

13. Name your worst habits.
"I can't really think of any that I have, manly because I'm always so focused at what I do."

14. Do you look up to anyone at all?
"I sometimes look up to my sensei, who has taught me everything about being a ninja warrior, but I also look up to my friends and family all the time as well... Excluding Yami, of course."

15. Are you gay, straight, or bisexual?
"Um... I think that's kind of an embarrassing question to ask a female ninja."

16. Do you go to school?
"Well, I was able to graduate from high school before spending a year outside my hometown training under my sensai."

17. Ever wanna marry and have kids one day?
"I guess that would be nice, although I just haven't found the right guy for me yet."

18. Do you have any fanboys/fangirls?
"Not many that I know of, but I'm sure that everyone finds me appealing for being a female ninja crime-fighter."

19. What are you most afraid of?
"I am most afraid of seeing my friends turn against me. As I've mentioned earlier, I don't like seeing my friends fighting each other, and it makes me want to fight with them as well."

20. What do you usually wear?
"I like to wear a red outfit that consists of a red top, red shorts, and red fingerless gloves, which I think is an outfit that's suitable for a modern-day ninja crime-fighter to wear, other than the fact that red happens to be my favorite color as well."

21. What's one food that tempts you?
"I suppose anything sweet and tasty is tempting enough, but I like to prefer eating Japanese foods most of the time like rice, sushi, etc."

22. What class are you? Low class, middle class, high class?
"It's hard for me to figure out, since I'm just a female ninja who fights crime on a regular basis."

23. How many friends do you have?
"Other than Dudley and Kitty, some of my other friends include my best friend, Hayai Bunny, and my young companion, Shizu Siam."

24. What are your thoughts on pie?
"I think it's very nice and tasty, even though I've never actually had it that much."

25. Favorite drink?
"I like to drink green tea, which puts me in a calm and peaceful mood."

26. What's your favorite place?
"Other than Petropolis, I still love to travel back to my hometown in Japan so I can visit my family and childhood friends."

27. Are you interested in anyone?
"I'm hoping that I might find someone who's really nice and kind-hearted, and maybe even a squirrel like myself..."

28. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean?
"I would like to swim in the ocean because of it being very big, spacious, and full of excitement."

29. What's your type?
"I am noble, friendly, kind-hearted, and I just love to help out anyone in need whenever I can."

30. Camping or indoors?
"I guess I prefer camping because of it being the perfect way to train my ninja skills without being inside a cramped place all day."

31. Well, it's over. Now tag some people!
"I will gladly tag anyone who's enjoyed this interview as much as I did."

Free Comic Day 2014

Journal Entry: Sun May 4, 2014, 4:05 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

I have decided to post this journal entry telling my friends and watchers how exciting and awesome my weekend was for me recently. This Saturday happened to be Free Comic Book Day at places that normally sell comic books, and I was able to stop by at the local comic book store in my hometown shortly after getting a haircut and some lunch, and I was in for a real surprise upon arriving... There were some guys haning out at the store all day who were seen posing as Ghostbusters; The guys were seen wearing the jumpsuits that were worn by the Ghostbusters with their own names sewn on the tags, they had realistic replicas of the Ghostbusters' equipment (proton packs, ghost traps, etc.) on display for everyone to see, and there was even a truck designed to look just like the Ecto-1. I was so excited by what I saw at the store that I was able to take quite a few pictures on my smartphone, which can also be found on my Facebook page. After coming home from the store, I was able to watch one of the new episodes of "T.U.F.F. Puppy" that aired on Nicktoons Network, which was really nice and awesome to check out, especially the cartoon "Dancin' Machine", which is about Kitty Katswell learning how to dance, and she uses her new skills to help Dudley foil The Chameleon's fiendish plot; After watching this episode, I decided to take the opportunity to draw a picture of Kitty in her dancing outfit before I forget, which I managed to draw and scan onto my computer. Afterwards, I then headed out to the movies that day, and I was able to see "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" in 3D, which I definitely enjoyed after watching, and I found it to be a little better than the previous movie in my opinion; I don't want to reveal any spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but what I can say is that one of the main villains that Spider-Man faces off in the movie is Electro, who is played by Jamie Foxx, and we even get to see a newer version of Spider-Man's most dangerous arch-nemesis appearing as well. Because of how many exciting things I've done all day on Saturday, I've been feeling so happy and motivated enough to work on some new ideas for pictures that I'd like to draw as well as some pictures that I need to work on as point commissions, art trades, etc. for my friends and everyone else. I'm also in the mood for doing art trades with certain artists on here as well, so if there's anyone who's open for art trades, please let me know in some way. Happy drawing!

Laptop Computer

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 2, 2014, 1:15 PM

I am posting this quick journal entry to let my friends know what's been happening for me lately. As everyone may already know, yesterday was actually April Fools' Day, but I wasn't able to log onto deviantART that day because I was out doing some shopping for myself like I sometimes do each month, so I hope I didn't miss too much that went on while I was gone. Anyway, I was finally able to save up enough of my money to get a laptop computer recently, which I was able to buy at a local Staples for about $300. I've been wanting to get a laptop computer for quite a while so that I won't have to rely on the desktop computer that everyone else in my family uses, especially if I need it to work on some pictures that I need to get done at my own pace. Even though I was able to buy my laptop computer, I haven't actually been able to use it yet because I need to get some antivirus software before I begin setting it up, and I'd also like to get a small desk for my room as well. The type of antivirus software I was thinking of getting was VIPRE, which we have currtently installed in our desktop, but I was thinking of installing McAffe Antivirus for a change. If anybody has any suggestions for which antivirus software would be suitable to install on a laptop computer like mine, I would gladly appreciate it as well as any advice for my laptop computer before I start using it.

How I'm Feeling Lately...

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 26, 2014, 12:58 PM
Skin by TMNT-Raph-fan

Because I've got nothing else to do except work on my current set of pictures, I feel like wanting to write about what's been on my mind lately. Just recently, I've started to realize that I actually have a passion for cute girl characters in kimonos, which I've been kind of in the mood for drawing for some time. As you would probably know, I was able to draw my original character, Whitnee Squirrel, in a red kimono plenty of times, and I've also asked my friends and other talented artists who are currently accepting point commissions to draw Whitnee in her kimono as well; Even though the original version of my character isn't actually Japanese (unlike the "T.U.F.F. Puppy" version of Whitnee, which is meant to be different in so many ways), she does have a fond interest in anything Japanese-related, and the kimono she'd be seen wearing would be something that was given to her as a gift by her grandparents, who were born in Japan. Whenever I draw other girl characters in kimonos, I'm also able to draw them with tabi (Japanese socks) on their feet, since I'm still a sucker for girls in socked feet.

I would also like to mention that I just found out that my best friend :iconsmutsblod: had just been engaged to her boyfriend recently, and I feel like wanting to show my support for her in any possible way as well. Even though I should be quite happy for my best friend, I'm also kind of worried that wouldn't be able to hear from her that much whenever I've got something on my mind that I'd like to discuss with her. Because we live so far away from each other, I can totally understand that we would never actually be able to start a relationship, despite how much I've really loved her in the past. Even so, I'm hoping that she'll continue to love me as one of her closest friends.

3) What are you best at?
I would have to say drawing cartoon characters in my own unique style and playing video games from older consoles really well.

4) How did you come up with your dA username?
I decided to just use my full name so that my friends would be able to recognize me after my original account was hacked into a long time ago. :worry:

5) What anime (or any fictional) character are you most similar to?
I would probably have to say Dudley Puppy from "T.U.F.F. Puppy" because he's a grown dog who still acts like a kid, and I'm pretty much the same way in real life. ;)

6) If you had an Eevee, what would you evolve it to?
It all depends on which Pokemon type I need more on my team, I guess... :pokeball:

7) How do you react when someone takes your food without asking?
I'd get really unhappy because I hate having food taken away from me, especially if I'm in the middle of eating it! :x

8) Describe the most recent dream you remember?
It's kind of hard for me to tell, since my dreams can be too weird for me to describe, especially if I'm unable to remember what some of them were all about. :P

9) If you were home alone in the middle of the night and you heard a fart, would you laugh or be scared?
I would laugh, especially if it sounds really funny. :XD:

10) What would you do for a Klondike bar?
I don't know... I would probably do something I've never done before such as bungee jumping.

MY QUESTIONS TO ASK:

1) Which do you prefer to drink: Coca-Cola or Pepsi?
2) What are your favorite toppings on a pizza?
3) What is your favorite kind of M&M's candy (Plain, Peanut, etc.)?
4) Do you sometimes shallow your chewing gum when you're done with it?
5) Do you prefer to eat sandwiches when they're hot or cold?
6) What is your least favorite topping to eat on a hamburger?
7) Do you like to eat onions?
8) Which condiment do you like more: Ketchup or BBQ Sauce?
9) Besides jelly, what else would you put on a peanut butter sandwich?
10) Are all these food-related questions making you hungry?

Smash TV: My Thoughts

Because I've been feeling kinda bored lately, I am in the mood for talking about a classic arcade game called "Smash TV", which has actually been on my mind not too long ago. In case anybody has never heard of this game before, "Smash TV" is an arcade video game by Midway (an awesome video game company that has gone out of business since 2009) that came out in 1990, and it was also ported to home consoles such as the NES, Sega Genesis, and SNES. The setting for the game took place in the 'futuristic' year of 1999, where players competed in a game show by shooting at hordes of mutant thugs that try to kill them while trying to stay alive and collecting valuable prizes such as cash and toasters. Needless to say, this game was completely inspired by the Arnold Schwarzenegger action/sci-fi flick "The Running Man", which was about an ex-police detective who competed in a violent game show with the contestants trying to stay alive. Because this game was created by the good folks of Midway , the gameplay is quite similar to that of Midway's other arcade classic "Robotron 2084", which featured the use of two joysticks to play - one joystick was used to control the player, and the other joystick was used to fire the weapons in eight directions. What makes this game so awesome is the fact that it is surprisingly violent for a game that came out years before "Mortal Kombat" hit the arcades, and you also gotta love the game show host who says random quotes such as "Big money, big prizes... I love it!" and "I'll buy that for a dollar!" (the latter of which was taken from the original version of the movie "Robocop"). Now, I've never actually played this game when it was released in arcade back in the day (or even seen any of the original cabinets it was playable on), but it was one of many playable games featured in "Midway's Arcade Treasures" on the Nintendo Gamecube, which is how I was able to play the game in its original arcade glory. Whenever I do get the chance to play "Smash TV", I usually don't stop until I've beaten the final level, which is how addicting the game really is. Other than that, I would also love to hear what my friends think of this unforgettable classic.
