Even though I am taking a break from posting newer artwork on dA this week, I have decided to post a journal entry about something on my mind while I was checking my messages recently. As everyone may probably already know by now, I am a guy who loves video games about as much as I love cartoons, so I feel like wanting to talk about the kind of video games that I enjoy playing. I've been pretty much a Nintendo gamer my whole life, although I also really enjoy playing games on Sega's game systems as well. I've never actually been too keen about Sony's game systems for some reason (even though there are a few game series released for them that I actually find somewhat enjoyable, including "Twisted Metal" and "Sly Cooper"), and I'm just starting to get into Microsoft's game systems after giving the Xbox 360 a chance not too long ago. Ever since I was young, I've been getting into a lot of awesome game series that I remember being out a long time, although I was never able to play all the games that came out when I was a kid until I was able to buy many of them as I got older. As you would probably guess, a lot of the video games that I've enjoyed playing are the old-school titles that have been around as long as I have. I was able to beat many of those games that I've played and/or owned for a while now, which is something that every gamer is usually proud of.
However, there are a few game series and/or game titles that I've never actually been able to complete on my own, which I feel like wanting to discuss to anybody who's interested. For example, the only game of the "Castlevania" series that I've ever beaten so far is the very first one originally released on the NES; I understand that it is one of the most challenging game series that Konami has ever made (as well as "Contra", since I have yet to beat any of the games from that series on my own), and I feel like I should try to beat all the other games in the series just to prove how good I am, especially after hearing my friend tell me that he was able to beat "Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse" on the NES, which kind of surprises me because of it being one of the most challenging games in the series to beat on a single setting (even though you can use passwords to continue your game). Ironic as this may also sound, I've never actually been able to beat "The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time" on the Nintendo 64, and that's only because I've never quite enjoyed playing the 3D Zelda games as much as I have the 2D Zelda games for some reason, even though I was able to give the game a chance after so many years, which I was able to play on my Nintendo Wii after downloading it via Wii Shop Channel.
Even though these are just a few of the games I can think of that I've never been able to beat on my own, the games that I tend to be really good at playing are the action platformers, which is what I find myself hooked on each time I play video games. Despite how most video games are played nowadays, there are a lot of great video game series that happen to be part of this particular genre, including Mario, Sonic, and Mega Man; I've also enjoyed playing the Metroid games, especially after I was able to beat the SNES classic "Super Metroid" not too long ago (although I wasn't able to beat it 'perfectly' for the first time, since it was much longer than I expected it to be). Whenever I play the Pokemon games, I usually just focus on completing the main story for each game without having to worry about catching every single Pokemon known in the series and/or training my Pokemon to battle other people around the world, although I wouldn't actually mind being able to play with some of my friends via Wi-Fi.
After giving some thought about some of these video games that I've mentioned, I've come to realize that I'm not exactly a 'hardcore' gamer like I've always thought I was, and that I'm more of a 'casual' gamer because of the way I play video games all the time. Even though there's always going to be someone who's always been great at playing certain games a lot better than me, I don't want to let such an idea get to me in any way, especially if I'm just trying to be like everyone else who enjoys video games about as much as I do. If you completely understand how I feel, then please feel free to share your thoughts as well.

A Very Special Announcement For 2024
It's been a long time since I was able to post a new journal entry here on DeviantArt, and I'd like to take the opportunity to make a kind of important announcement to my friends and followers who have been able to watch me for quite some time now. First of all, I'd like to wish everyone on here a Happy New Year just in time before 2023 is able to come to a close, and here's hoping that 2024 will turn out to be just as good despite all the crazy stuff that has been happening in the world lately. Secondly, I think now would be the perfect time to let everyone know that my DeviantArt page has officially gained over 1 Million Pageviews after checking out my profile page not too long ago, which is quite an accomplishment considering the fact that I've been able to post my artwork with my account on here for the past 13 years now, and I really appreciate all the kindness and support that everyone has given me during that time, especially when I was being trolled and bullied by others in the
My Trolling Incidents In The Past
When I was cleaning up some old content from my group 'WSFC' (Whitnee Squirrel Fan Club), I was able to come across an old journal entry that I had posted ten years ago regarding an offensive piece of artwork that was done of my original character, Whitnee Squirrel, getting killed by someone else's character in an ultraviolent manner, and not in a funny way, but rather in a way that is both hateful and hurtful: https://www.deviantart.com/julaaaayyy/art/The-epic-battle-336626833 Surprisingly, the picture has yet to be taken down with the user who posted it not getting banned from the site afterwards, though it appears that their account has become quite inactive for a long time now, since they haven't posted any new artwork on here aside from the violent and/or lewd content involving my own characters including Goldie, Jade, and Skyler. The picture was more than likely done during the time in which I was being constantly bullied and heckled by trolls who found joy in picking on me
Just To Let Everyone Know...
I have been hearing a lot of people fussing about the new AI feature that was recently added on DeviantArt, which supposedly lets people design their own pictures using existing artwork that they've already posted, and everyone's been so unhappy about it to the point where they're actually threatening to leave this site and/or deactivate their accounts while also removing much of their artwork from their galleries. Well, guess what? I am not one of those people who is able to do such a thing, and I am not going to leave this site at all regardless of such a change that was done, especially since I don't understand why I should be unhappy with such a new feature like everyone else, considering the fact that I will most likely never be able to use it in the first place. In fact, one of the reasons for me not wanting to leave DeviantArt is because it's pretty much the only place where I have been able to get so much recognition for my cartoon artwork after being on here since 2009, and I
Taking A Short Break From DA
You're probably able to notice a lack of new artwork that I'm able to post on here, and I have a perfectly good explaination for that: I have decided to take a short break from posting new artwork on DeviantArt for at least a week, since I am currently working on some pictures that I'm doing for a friend of mine who works at a collectable shop in my hometown, where I'm able to go hang out at least once a week, and they were more than nice enough to ask me to draw some pictures for them after I was able to show them my work for quite some time now, especially after having drawn a picture of Wonder Woman as an anthropomorphic bunny in my original cartoon style, to which they absolutely loved so much that they decided to display in in the shop after having it framed shortly afterwards. And so, I was asked to draw a set of pictures featuring the Batman villains in my original cartoon style, which would also be framed in the shop after getting them colored in, and I would even be able to

Well Castlevania III was eventually easier for me to beat due to me being such a huge fan of the series. But it wasn't the first one on NES that I played; it was Symphony of the Night' for the Playstation I first played. That got me curious to eventually go back to the older games; when I would purchase a used Nintendo in the early 2000's.
And I never played the first Castlevania or the third one until after Symphony; because I didn't play NES when I was a young kid growing up in the 89's or early 90's. Old School gaming came much later to me.
And from what I understand; you like to complete a game just to foll through it's story. You're not one really in it for the side quests or collecting. Since my experience with JRPGs like Final Fantasy; I found that it actually extends the hours of the game and allows me to further grind to get more bang for my buck out of it. A game doesn't really thrill me all that much if I finish it too quickly. In my experience it needs to take me days or even weeks to beat one to know I truly dedicated myself to something worth while. So I'm not as casual a gamer as one might think. I definitely like to grind and farm for things: to an extent where I could actually find every item the enemies dropped in 'Symphony of the Night.'
And that goes double for when I learned how to beat the optional weapons in Final Fantasy. Most gamers would just quit and not bother to fight them. For the hardcore...they had to beaten. So yes...I can be somewhat hardcore...provide the game is worth my time.
